A Review of the City of Deadwood in South Dakota

Deadwood, SD sm2Deadwood is a city in South Dakota that was established in 1876 during the Black Hills gold rush. We visited on September 18th to explore the city and discover its history. We learned about famous frontiersman “Buffalo Bill” Cody and other people like Wild Bill Hickok and Calamity Jane. It is also an old city that has been preserved and was listed as a National Historic Landmark in 1961.

The town was historic looking and cool but it was mostly casinos so there was nothing for someone my age to do. So it wasn’t really that much fun. We Deadwood, SD smwent to a few gift shops to look around and went to a restaurant for dinner. I give Deadwood 1 star out of 5 because unless you are 21, you can only go in to 1starapproximately three shops because everywhere else is gambling.
